Step 8: Reassemble PS2

Overview

With all the hard work done the last step is to assemble everything back together. Follow these steps to reassemble the console.

Tools

Required:

  • Philips #1 screwdriver.

Step 8.1       Install door spring.

  • Insert the door spring into the recess as shown.

Step 8.2       Install disk drive door

  • Align the door with the two openings in the top shell.

  • The door will be offset to the right as shown.

  • Insert it into the opening.

Step 8.3      

  • Close the door part way as shown.

  • Lock the door in place by sliding it to the left.

  • Close the lid.

Step 8.4       Install door hinge bracket

  • Insert the two hinge brackets as shown.

Step 8.5       Screw in hinge bracket

  • Install the two self tapping screws into the door hinge brackets.

Step 8.6       Place internals into lower shell

  • Lower the PS2 into the bottom shell.

  • Insert the front side ports first.

  • Lower the rear ports into place.

Step 8.7       Install power button

  • Place the power button board into position.

Step 8.8       Screw in controller port

  • Install the round philips head screw on the controller port.

Step 8.9       Install top shell.

  • Hook shell onto the clips on the front of the console.

  • Lower the rear to seat the shell into place.

  • Ensure the clip to along the right side locks into place.

Step 8.10       Install case screws

  • Install the 6 self tapping case screws.

Step 8.11       Replace screw covers

  • Cover the screws marked in red with plastic covers.

  • Place the rubber feet over the yellow screws.

Step 8.12       Finished!

  • Congratulations on completing the install!
